CLEBRATIONS have been taking place at the new Solomon Islands High Commission in Wellington to mark the 36th anniversary of the Solomon Islands’ political independence.
The event was opened by the ‘Are’are Pan Pipers who came together from all over New Zealand to perform.
Dr Kabini Sanga, master of ceremonies and lecturer at Victoria University, says it was special for New Zealanders to have the chance to hear the music as Solomon Island Pan Pipes are nmot often heard here.
